God is good!

Okay let me share a quick story:

Today, Clint was driving home from work and noticed that his heat was not working, next thing he knew the car was overheating. So he decided to go to his moms house instead of coming all the way out to my parents house. And get this, our car died as soon as he pulled into his mom's driveway...we are so thankful that the Lord kept Clint safe and brought him safely to his moms. We are also so thankful that this did not happen to our car while Sawyer and I were in it! Clint is praising God today for his protection and giving God all the glory! Please pray for our car, that we can get it fixed without having to pay too much money.

For a quick Sawyer update:

She slept her longest last night. I fed her at 8:30pm and we put her to bed at 9. She slept till 7am! I am hoping to start putting her to bed around 9 now, I would LOVE to do 7pm but I don't think she is ready for that yet. She has been chewing on her left pointer and middle finger like CRAZY, it is the cutest thing but I think she is in pain from teething. She has been super sweet today, but really fussy when I put her down for her nap, I think cause she realizes her gums hurt when she is laying down doing nothing. So hopefully we will have another good night... we shall see. She will be 4 months in a few weeks, whooo hoo!!!

Anyways, just wanted to share those updates and ask for prayers.

Trust Him

Trust Him when dark doubts assail thee,
Trust Him when thy faith is small,
Trust Him when to simply trust Him
Seems the hardest thing of all.

Can't sleep

I am up WAY to early...it's 3:58 am right now. No my baby did not wake me up, she is fast asleep in her little bed. I woke up around 3 and just couldn't fall back to sleep. So I thought I would post some pictures of our sweet girl, and update on the Philly situation.

Clint has had a phone interview with a company up in Philly. Brandon, who is a fellow church planter works at this company so we are PRAYING that this job works out. We have started to begin looking at several rental houses/apartments up there. We fell in love with one yesterday and we are PRAYING that we get it. It's going to be a waiting game for the next few days. Why is it so hard to wait for things? I am trying to remind myself that the Lord will provide just what we need, and to trust in Him...but it's hard!

Please pray for us. We could be moving next month, or it could be a while longer. Our life is getting ready to change drastically, I am ready for the change but of course with change comes fear and anxiety. I've been reading some good stuff to comfort me and remind me gospel truths, I will try to post some of it but it's all the way downstairs right now and I am too lazy to go get it =D

Okay enough of my jibber jabber (is that how you spell that) here are some pics of our SEC

And here are some more

As Any Mother to the Savior

As Thou didst walk the lanes of Galilee,
So, loving Savior; walk with her for me,
For since the years have passed and she is grown,
I cannot follow; she must walk alone

Be Thou my feet that I have had to stay,
For Thou canst comrade her on every way;
Be Thou my voice when sinful things allure,
Pleading with her to choose those which endure.
Be thou my hands that would keep hers in mine,
And all things else that mothers must resign.

When she was little, I could walk and guide,
But now I pray that Thou be at her side.
And as Thy blessed mother folded Thee,
So, loving Savior, fold my girl for me.

I found that poem in the book "The Shaping of a Christian Family" by Elisabeth Elliot. Her mother used that poem to encourage Elisabeth when she was a young lady. I loved it; however, I am having trouble understanding the last two lines, any takers???

3 months... a little late

Sawyer turned 3 months old on January 4th. Her 3rd month was probably her best so far! She is starting to become the sweetest little girl ever. She still has her stubborn personality but I am beginning to love that part of her. Our doctor does not do a 3 month check up so I don't really have any stats to report; however, she is starting to fill out more and has the most adorable chubby legs so I know she is gaining weight. Here are some month 3 highlights:

-Celebrated her first Christmas
-Had several play dates
-Got her first cold (and still has it)
-Rolled over (only twice though)
-Began playing in her exersaucer (really starting to enjoy it)
-Has become an expert in her bumbo seat (is starting to love watching us eat)

Here is what her schedule is like:

Wake up around 7am
Eat
Play with Mommy and Daddy
Nap around 8:30am
Eat at 10am
Play
Nap around 11:30am
Eat at 1pm
Play
Nap around 2:30pm
Eat at 4pm
Play
Nap around 5:30pm
Eat at 7pm
Bed around 9ish or 10ish

She is a really good girl during the day, but her fussy side comes out at night, so we are still trying to figure that out, any suggestions???

Clint and I are loving this time with Sawyer and trying to cherish every moment. We are so thankful for our daughter and pray that she will continue to grow into a wonderful young lady!!

2011

2010 was a wonderful year for Clint and I, here are some favorite memories/moments:

1. Everything involving Sawyer (that's a given)
2. Being married for 2 years
3. My birthday...it was a perfect day involving the Farmers market with a best friend, cooking the food I bought at the market, Clint recording my favorite movie "Father of the Bride part 2, it was a crisp day in July, and ending it eating ice cream at Slugger Field
4. Packing up and moving out of our apartment, it served us well for 2 years but we were ready to get out of that small little place we called home
5. Preparing and still preparing to move to Philadelphia, saying goodbye to good friends who we hope to reunite with very soon!

We pray 2011 will be the year that we move to Philly, we pray that we will be able to celebrate Sawyer's first birthday, and we pray that the Lord would prepare our hearts for whatever else He has planned! Here is our prayer: "In this coming year, may we place our hope in the trustworthy promises in Jesus Christ. No matter what we suffer or what we enjoy, in all things may your name be lifted up and glorified in our homes and our hearts. Amen."

We ended the year off right. On NYE we spent the day with dear friends. Clint got to go to the UK vs. U of L basketball and had the time of his life. He had wonderful company, wonderful seats, and a wonderful outcome...Go big blue! Sawyer and I hung out with the wives and babies and talked for hours, what we do best. Here is a picture of Clint, Sawyer, and I in our UK gear

Later that day we went over to Clint's brothers house. His wife and son Z man were there, we cooked dinner, played games, enjoyed our babies and had great conversation. Clint's other brother stopped by also...it was perfect! Here are the babies just chillin

Sawyer has been such a sweet girl. She has slept through the night for a week now, whooo hooo. She usually goes down around 10 and wakes up with a smile at 7am. Her naps are usually 45min to 2 hours during the day. She is usually super happy as long as she is fed and took a good nap. I am loving this stage that she is in, being a mommy just gets better and better. She will be 3 months tomorrow, I'll do her 3 month post then!

I'll end with some more pictures of our sweet daughter
